This syllabus template was developed in Notion by Brad Starkey-Owens in collaboration with Dr. Diana Ho. The intent of this template is to assist faculty with providing Accessible syllabi, using nested element hierarchy and proper link descriptions.
<aside> 💡
This template can be copy and pasted into a blank Notion document, any word processing application (i.e. Word or Google Docs), or directly into rich text editing in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
When pasted into other applications, expanding tabs will appear as bulleted lists. This template prefers the use of bulleted lists to tables, however accessible tables can be used to display data if needed.
Exporting syllabi to PDF is not recommended, as formatting can become unreliable during export.

Draft assignments will be due on [Day and time…] (on in-class days, so that we can engage in peer review activities).
Assignments will be due via Canvas by the following Monday, ideally after you have had a chance to revise based on peer-feedback.
Assignments are briefly described here, but detailed in the accompanying assignment documents.
The assignments are deliberately scaffolded to allow for formative assessment at regular intervals so both student and instructor may provide feedback regarding learning progress.
